A Mining guild quest in Rock Bottom Lodge. Requires base Mining 60 (potions do not count) and a visit to the guild. Rewards: 1,200 coins, 4,500 Mining XP, a Cart Token and 2 Quest Points.

Your base Mining level counts; skill potions do not qualify.

If your cart network is already unlocked, or you already carry an unredeemed Cart Token, you get no second token.

A full backpack never blocks the reward: the token goes to your bank.

Bring a pickaxe: several repairs are done with pickaxe swings. Each section is a private area that only you enter.

  1. Talk to Dorrik Railhand, ask Need a hand with the railway? and accept with I'll fix your rails.

  2. Choose Take me to The Collapsed Cutting. Inspect the collapse, then mine the three obstructions (two pickaxe swings each) and inspect the rail.

  3. Talk to Dorrik and travel to The Broken Supports. For each of the three supports: inspect it, clear the debris with your pickaxe, fit a brace from the timber stack, and secure it with your pickaxe.

  4. Travel to The Runaway Switch. Inspect the switch, chip out the jam with your pickaxe, reset the points, then pull the lever. An empty cart rolls safely through.

  5. Talk to Dorrik again and confirm that all three sections are fixed to finish the quest.

Notes

  • Redeem the Cart Token to unlock the Dwarven Cart Network.
  • If your cart network is already unlocked, or you already carry an unredeemed token, Dorrik pays without a second token.
  • A full backpack never blocks the reward: the token goes to your bank.
