Start with Iris Tintwell, the Colourist beside her cart at (53, 27) in Southfield Farms, beside the central crossing. Requires 20 Quest Points. Rewards: 2 Quest Points, 2,500 coins and one Royal Amethyst Theme Token.

5× Amethyst Gem (consumed) Buy from Mirelle for 260 coins; Drop: Ember Mage (1/20).
2× Cut Amethyst (consumed) Buy from Mirelle for 390 coins; Make it: Gem cutting (Smithing 10).
1× Honey Jar (consumed) Buy from Edd the shopkeep for 30 coins (+1 more shops); Make it: Alchemy (Alchemy 1).

Bring 5 Amethyst Gems, 2 Cut Amethysts and 1 Honey Jar in your backpack. Items in the bank do not count. Mirelle sells gemstones when stocked; you can also obtain gems through Mining and cut them using a Chisel and the appropriate Smithing level.

  1. Choose A Shade of Royalty in Iris's dialogue and agree to help. Her token shop remains available separately.

  2. Find Mirelle in her jewellery shop in Southfield Farms. Choose A Shade of Royalty, hear her pigment advice and select I'll take your advice back to Iris. Her normal shop and other quest topics remain available.

  3. Return to Iris with all the ingredients and choose Hand over the ingredients. She mixes the violet pigment, takes the materials and gives you the reward. Make room for the token; if the hand-in cannot fit, your materials stay with you.

Notes

  • Redeem the token from your backpack to unlock Royal Amethyst permanently for your account, then select it in Settings > Themes. Finishing the quest gives the token; it does not change your theme automatically.
  • The token is account-bound. Iris does not sell Royal Amethyst tokens.
  • Completing this quest opens Lights of the Deep once you also have Fishing 65.
